My name is Nicole Hill and I am a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. In addition to majori
ng in journalism, I am currently working on a minor in history.
OU has given me the wonderful opportunity of being a part of Student Media. Currently, I am the Managing Editor for the 100th edition of Sooner Yearbook, but I have worked on various projects under the Features Department umbrella. These projects include contributions to the HSC Sower magazine, oudaily.com, On the Oval magazine and the OU Visitor’s Guide, as well as the 2008 edition of Sooner. And while writing is my focus, I have a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Audacity, Soundslides and Final Cut. With these skills and experiences, my goal is to work at a magazine or newspaper writing features.
This summer I will also be interning for TulsaPeople magazine. In the fall, I will be editor-in-chief of Sooner 2010, the 101st edition of OU’s award-winning yearbook.
In my spare time, I am involved with the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the OU Wesley Foundation and Young Democrats. I am a news junkie and am always either watching the news, reading a newspaper or scanning the Internet. This just proves that in journalism, you’re never really off duty.
If you’d like to contact me, the best way is by email: nicole.m.hill-1@ou.edu.
